TM formalizes two new collaboration agreements for ICT infrastructure services

Dec 20, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Telekom Malaysia Berhad, or TM, which offers a range of communication services and solutions in broadband, data and fixed-line, has formalized two collaboration agreements for the provisioning of telecommunications and ICT infrastructure and services towards realizing the aspiration of a smart and connected Nusajaya.

The two collaborations agreements are: Collaboration Agreement on the provision of communication & ICT infrastructure and telecommunications services to realize the aspirations of a smart and connected Nusajaya, Iskandar Malaysia between UEM Land Berhad (UEM Land), Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB) and TM; The Collaboration Agreement on the opportunities available for providing smart city & smart building infrastructure & services, the establishment of a managed services operating company (MSCo) and the potential set-up of a Global Innovation Centre (GIC) to realize the smart and connected Nusajaya aspirations, between TM, UEM Land, IIB, Centios Co Ltd (Centios) and Cisco System International B.V. (Cisco); The collaboration between the parties was signified by a document exchange ceremony held in conjunction with the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) in Nusajaya.

The first collaboration will see the parties working together in several key areas, including provisioning of communication infrastructure and services for both residential and business property developments in Nusajaya, establishment of data centre, ICT/BPO service offerings as well as extending WiFi services to cover more sites in Nusajaya and will also be establishing a one stop center in Nusajaya to support the telecommunications and ICT requirements of enterprises and businesses in the area.

Under the second agreement, TM, UEM Land, IIB, Centios and Cisco agreed to jointly further explore the establishment of a Managed Services operating company (MSCo) that will deliver smart city infrastructure and services in Nusajaya; and the potential set-up of a Global Innovation Centre (GIC) in Nusajaya.
