GameCorp's Subsidiary Wins BPO Contract to Serve Large Global Retailer

By Sujata Garud, TMCnet Contributor

GameCorp, a merchant banking company, has announced that its recently acquired business process outsourcing subsidiary has won a contract to serve a large global retailer. GameCorp has not yet revealed the name of the client. The company’s BPO subsidiary will offer paper application processing services leveraging a combination of technology. The contract carries a minimum value of $3.4 million. The majority of the value expected to be realized in the first 12 months following the launch.

In a press release, Mr. J. Graham Simmonds, president and CEO, said, “We are delighted to announce this new contract as we build on the success of our new BPO subsidiary in our key markets. While we cannot disclose the name of the client, we are confident that our performance will provide a reference that could lead to other substantial brand and contract wins.”

The contract started on July 4, 2012 and will run for a 42- month term with delivery of services expected to launch on or before September 17, 2012. GameCorp’s subsidiary will open two new business processing outsourcing sites in the U.S. The company will also add about 300 staff positions to support the client's expansive loyalty program. According to the client’s request, sites and staffing plans be sized to house two to three times the volume as defined by the minimum contract value and the company is currently making preparations to support this request.

GameCorp was recently in news when it announced its intention to raise up to $500,000 through a best efforts marketed private placement. Net proceeds from the offering will be used for working capital and development of the company's BPO business plan. In general, GameCorp is a merchant banking company that is opportunistic with its investment scope. The company has investments in mobile and gaming technology.
