Business process outsourcing is a phenomenon that offers companies benefits such as cost savings, increased productivity and improved customer relationships. Each week, as more companies realize these benefits, there is more news to keep up with in the industry. Here are the top business process outsourcing stories of the week.


To kick off the week, TantaComm (News - Alert) introduced the TantaComm Protect suite of solutions, which enables business process outsourcers to address 12 PCI (News - Alert)-DSS requirements while ensuring the security of recorded interactions. TantaComm Protect builds on the company’s current PCI compliance enablement product.

Olim Technologies Group, a company specializing in business process optimization software, has collaborated with Siemens (News - Alert) to add a Module to the Collybus Suite. The new module, known as “ePostman,” is powered by Siemens and lets clients manage the traditional physical mail process including ‘white-mail’ in an automated manner. Employees and workgroups in the enterprise will receive mail despite facility location.

Also this week, the Philippines’ business process outsourcing (BPO) industry cheered the recent passage of landmark cybercrimes laws that are designed to protect industries and individuals who rely on data usage. Service sectors, which include the BPO industry, are major growth drivers for the Philippines’ economy and are gearing up for a 20-percent growth this year.

For those with call center experience and looking for a job, Alorica wants you! The company held a job fair this week in Vermillion, SD to find candidates with general customer service knowledge, good communications skills and a technical aptitude. The company also has an upcoming job fair on Monday, October 1 in Colorado Springs. It plans to add over 350 new team members by the end of the year. The positions are to fill permanent full-time positions due to growth opportunities with an existing client. The majority of openings are for Inbound Customer Service Representatives.
