Oracle Introduces a Waste Management Solution for Oracle E-Business Suite

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Modern day industries deal with many hazardous materials which need to be disposed off safely. They also have to comply with various regulations and guidelines regarding waste management, which can be a time consuming and expensive process.

To help with its own waste management issues, Oracle (News - Alert) has unveiled a waste management solution for the Oracle E-Business Suite.

The new waste management solution from Oracle automates and monitors waste management processes, which makes it easier for companies to track hazardous materials and dispose them off according to regulatory requirements.

It also extends the capabilities within Oracle Depot Repair, Oracle Transportation Management and Oracle Global Trade Management.

Oracle's waste management solution allows the customers to view in-transit inventory across the extended supply chain. For this purpose, it makes use of Oracle Transportation Management and Oracle Global Trade Management solutions.

With this solution, customers also get a single repository for all legal, regulatory and compliance related information, making compliance easier.

“In today's economy, businesses and their supply chain partners must comply with material control laws in every single region in which they do business," said Hannes Sandmeier, vice president of cMRO and depot repair development, Oracle. "To help our customers manage this complex and costly process, we are introducing a waste management solution for theOracle E-Business Suite.”

“By helping customers automatically track and document the movement of materials,” Sandmeier added, “the new solution streamlines waste management processes and significantly increases visibility.”

Recently, the company announced the Oracle Optimized Solution for Oracle E-Business Suite. The Oracle Optimized Solution for Oracle E-Business Suite is based on Oracle SPARC SuperCluster T4-4, Oracle Solaris and Oracle VM Server for SPARC, and is suited for users looking to upgrade their mission-critical Oracle E-Business Suite environments. It can also reduce operating expenses and maximize user productivity.

The Oracle Optimized Solution for Oracle E-Business Suite can provide considerable cost savings.
