Hewlett-Packard Offers New Analysis Service for Business Process Outsourcing Using Data, Content

By Ed Silverstein, TMCnet Contributor

Hewlett-Packard’s (News - Alert) new analysis service for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) could lead to increased business. HP’s Business Analytics Services use both structured and unstructured data, as well as content to improve business.

“Valuable customer, supplier and market information is often buried in employee emails, PowerPoint presentations, webcasts, instant messages and other unstructured data,” HP said in a recent statement. “The challenge lies in transforming that unstructured data into actionable business insights.”

“Leveraging HP technology and people expertise, we take a scientific and collaborative approach to help you use the ever-increasing available data to improve decision-making,” the company added. “We embed analytics and business intelligence into our BPO solutions and also provide them as a stand-alone service.”

This means that BPO will lead to more efficient and economical outsourcing services and improved sales for the data center sector, according to a report from Datacenter Dynamics.

Via BPO, clients get more information to improve marketing, sales and supply chain functions. Customer service, finance and human resources are likely to improve, as well, the report adds.

In addition, there will be less risk given the improved level of information, and companies will find they can more easily and more quickly identify business opportunities for hosting companies.

“HP provides the hardware and software for firms to utilize big data and experienced analytic professionals to help the clients’ decision-making,” Danila Meirlaen, HP's vice president of Business Process Outsourcing, said in a recent statement carried by Datacenter Dynamics.

HP's analytics helps to be able to sort through information to make it “relevant, quantifiable and actionable,” Meirlaen added.

The need for the service is a reflection of recent efforts by companies to improve enterprise technology.

“Enterprises made significant investments to capture and store data,” Meirlaen continued in the report, “but few have developed the talent, tools and processes needed to turn this big data into actionable insights.”
