SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension 11 Certified for Integration with SAP NetWeaver

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

The SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability extension 11 Service Pack 2 received SAP (News - Alert)-certified integration with the SAP NetWeaver technology platform.

The new SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability extension 11 Service Pack 2 offers beneficial features to simplify users’ task of setting up and using the integrated suite of robust, open-source clustering technologies in the SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension. Administrators and less experienced users can seamlessly install and manage clustering scenarios and maximize the availability of Linux workloads.

According to SAP, its NetWeaver certification process puts in place a reference architecture that can help ensure compliant implementation of high-availability scenarios for running SAP solutions. Particularly, the SAP Application Server HA Interface Certification for HA Vendors (NW-HA-CLU 7.30) certifies the Start/Stop infrastructure within HA-Setups (SAP NetWeaver Management Agents, Cluster-API). The goal is to establish a single SAP HA setup scenario that will be known to all HA Vendors and will be the reference.

Fabian Herschel, SAP LinuxLab architect at SUSE commented, “We are delighted to announce yet another achievement for our customers using SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications. SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension, now certified by SAP, builds on our strengths to help ensure continuous access for our customers running mission-critical SAP applications.”

The SUSE solution was certified through the NW-HA-CLU 730 integration scenario for the Linux x86_64 platform and the SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension has been included with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP2 for SAP Applications.

SAP has worked with its partners to develop a range of high availability solutions, already in use by many customers.

Recently, SUSE unveiled private cloud management software powered by OpenStack, and Tableau 7.0 achieved SAP Certification for integration with NetWeaver.
