Megaworld Taps EEI Corp. to Build Mall, BPO Offices in Bonifacio Global City

Megaworld Corp. recently identified EEI Corp. as its general contractor for three upscale developments at its Uptown Bonifacio project in (BGC) Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Philippines. 

As per the deal, EEI will handle the construction of the three-level Uptown Mall and two office towers targeting companies in the business-process outsourcing industry. Megaworld and EEI signed the joint venture agreement on November 15, 2012.


Megaworld is developing the 15-hectare Uptown Bonifacio, located near the British, American and Japanese international schools in Bonifacio Global City.

He said that EEI’s extensive experience in construction and fabrication for the past 80 years has resulted in a strong portfolio of local and international projects. “EEI is quite known in the construction business. The company has the expertise and experience Megaworld requires, and it emphasizes organization and people safety.”

EEI president and chief executive officer, Roberto Castillo, said that Megaworld defines the standard for quality and the company will challenge them to meet and even exceed their expectations.

Megaworld Corporation is primarily engaged in developing large-scale, mixed-use planned communities, incorporating residential, commercial, educational and leisure components. It engages in activities such as project design, construction oversight and property management.

Since 1994, Megaworld has launched more than 250 residential buildings, office towers, commercial centers and hotels.

Aside from the Uptown Bonifacio developments, EEI is also the general contractor of Megaworld's Eight Forbes Town Road Golf View residential project in BGC, and One Central, at the junction of Sen. Gil Puyat and Ayala avenues in Makati.
