TMCnet's Business Process Outsourcing Week in Review

By David Gitonga, TMCnet Contributing Writer

It has been yet another week filled with business process outsourcing news, where a number of industry leaders have made highlights this week. These include the United States Coast Guard (USCG) contracting SCRA to support the WatchKeeper program, the launch of Oracle (News - Alert) enterprise Taxation Policy Management Self Service and we have seen Gartner positioning another player in the leaders quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for IRCM.

It was a big win for SCRA this week. The applied research corporation, which delivers technology solutions, entered into a three-year, $3 million contract with the U.S. Coast Guard to support the WatchKeeper program. SCRA has been mandated with offering domain expertise and capabilities that support security and other maintenance work. SCRA formerly played a key role in the planning, management, analysis, software development, testing, integration support and training support for the WatchKeeper program.

To help improve convenience to tax and revenue authorities in offering taxpayer services online quickly as well as make payments, contact the tax agency and receive automated assistance with policies and tax law, This week, Oracle made available the Oracle Enterprise Taxation Policy Management Self Service, which is built using open standards, allowing custom legacy applications and non-Oracle apps to integrate with the system. The system works with many credit card payment processes for tax payments.

This week also saw ADP get recognition as a leader in worldwide human resources business process outsourcing by the IDC (News - Alert) in its MarketScape report. The market research firm announced the reasons behind its support of ADP, saying that it is “the largest supplier of HR BPO services, with many areas of strength including global reach, reputation, viability, and sustained affordability.”

ADP is one of the world’s largest providers of business outsourcing solutions with approximately 600,000 clients and more than $10 billion in revenue. Its massive success has been due to its user-friendly solutions and cost reduction benefits.

In recognition of its revenue growth and presence in all major markets, Gartner positioned Amdocs in the leader’s quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Integrated Revenue and Customer Management (IRCM). According to Gartner (News - Alert), Amdocs’ understanding of the underlying and emerging trends in the revenue and customer management activities enabled it to direct its resources and investments accordingly, thus delivering innovative solutions that address service providers’ core business needs.
