ESI (News - Alert), a provider of project management training, recently shed light on the top 10 trends in project management for 2013, revealing expert leadership is lacking in all areas of project management, portfolio management and program management.

In other news this week, Kovarus, Inc., a company focused on increasing IT efficiency for its clients by architecting and integrating business-aligned IT solutions, acquired Back Office Architects, an IT services firm that delivers Microsoft (News - Alert) and virtualization solutions to companies that rely on a high-performance infrastructure and demand superior customer service. Thanks to the acquisition, new and existing customers will now be able to enjoy a more solid offering of business-aligned IT solutions from Kovarus.

In order to realize the full potential of its applications, Apptricity, a provider of innovative software applications that help companies of all sizes run better and maximize their resources,  needed to extend the reach of Jetstream to more users and allow them to instantly access its mission-critical apps for real-time intelligence. It certified Janamhardware for the Jetstream solution platform. The certification of Janam’s mobile-scanning capability reportedly increases the ranks of Apptricity’s mobility partners, and offers easy on-the-go integration to a larger section of enterprise users.

Also in acquisition news, Software and technology service company, SunGard, has just acquired XciteSolutionsPlus, LLC (XSP), a provider of end-to-end solutions for automated corporate actions. Although the terms of the deal have not been disclosed as of yet, SunGard is reportedly in good enough financial standing to embrace the acquisition with little financial impact.

One of the key aspects of business process outsourcing is embracing today’s workforce trends. YouSendIt, Inc., a go-to file collaboration service for enterprise and consumers, recently announced that its newly updated YouSendIt app is now available for free from the App Store on the iPhone and iPod touch or at the iTunes App Store. Leveraging the newly updated app, professionals will be able to work from any location using any device.
