eircom Shortens Time-to-Market by 75 percent with Comptel Fulfillment Solution

By Colleen Lynch, TMCnet Contributor

The Irish fixed-line and mobile telecommunications operator, eircom, has announced its selection of Comptel Fulfillment to expedite and deploy a series of the company’s new services.

eircom has reportedly chosen Comptel Corporation’s (News - Alert) offering in order to simplify service creation, lower the costs involved in deployment, and decrease the time-to-revenue period.

“We are sure that we’ve made the right choice,” said John McIntyre, head of Group Technology at eircom.

McIntyre called Comptel Fulfillment “comprehensive,” adding that “The automation, full order orchestration and integrated catalog will significantly optimize our service deployments and launches, help us keep customers satisfied with richer communications products and maximize our revenue streams.”

Using Comptel, eircom will be able to automate the end-to-end process, managing service order capture and service delivery much easier than the company has been able to in the past.

Comptel Fulfillment enables eircom to use a catalog-driven approach to order orchestration, which will likely result not only in less chance of order failure or mistakes, but in decreased time to market.

As time to market is generally six to 12 months, this capability from Comptel Fulfillment is significant, and will shorten eircom’s time-to-market period to about as long – around 75 percent less time.

“Time-to-market is an important differentiator for any operator in today’s fast-paced telecommunications market,” commented Mauro Carobene, CMO for Comptel. “With our catalog-driven Comptel Fulfillment product, eircom is well-positioned to streamline service innovation and ensure customer satisfaction to drive profitable business and stay ahead of the competition.”

The deal links eircom to Comptel’s solution for five years, beginning the company’s transition to the Next Generation Fulfillment platform immediately.

Comptel’s Catalog is pre-integrated with Comptel Fulfillment, so as a result of their contract, eircom now has access to multiple Comptel service catalogs, repositories and databases in order to choose various components for reuse for their customer services.
